Coronary Angiography

Coronary Angiography

Coronary angiography is a unique procedure performed by our cardiologists that utilizes a special dye (or contrast material) along with an x-ray or ECG to examine the blood flow through the heart's arteries.

It's often achieved with cardiac catheterization, and it measures the exact pressure in the heart chambers. Before your test starts, our nurses will give you a mild sedative to help with any anxiety.

The arm or groin) is cleaned, and with an anaesthetic, it's relaxed and numbed. The cardiologist passes a thin catheter tube, through an artery. It is then moved carefully up into the heart. X-ray and MRI images help the cardiologists position the catheter in the exact spot.

The dye injected through the catheter helps in identifying the problems and blockages in the blood flow.
